From Intern to Buyer: How Skyler Robinson is Helping Power the Future at TURBINE-X Energy Inc.

TURBINE-X Energy Inc. has officially announced the transition of Skyler Robinson from intern to the company's newest full-time Buyer and Procurement Specialist. Skyler’s journey highlights the company's commitment to fostering young talent and "powering careers" from the ground up.

A graduate of Sam Houston State University, Skyler originally joined TURBINE-X as an intern after recognizing the company’s massive growth potential. Now, stepping into a critical procurement role, Skyler is ready to make a global impact.

Bridging the Gap from Lecture to Logistics

Transitioning from the classroom to the fast-paced energy sector can be daunting, but Skyler found that TURBINE-X provided the perfect launchpad and training to apply academic theory to high-stakes, real-world projects.

"This experience has allowed me to use many of the skills and techniques learned in lectures on actual real projects," Skyler shared. "It allowed me to fully grasp the importance of what was learned."

During the internship, Skyler quickly mastered the art of supply chain triage, learning how to balance high-priority logistics while simultaneously managing daily, routine tasks. That trial-by-fire experience paid off. Skyler notes immense pride in how far the procurement team has progressed during his time with the company. It has evolved from an early, uphill battle of trying to get suppliers onto the Approved Vendor List (AVL) before receiving Bills of Materials (BOM), to a streamlined operation where Purchase Orders (POs) are now being cut every single day.

A Team-First Mentality

Skyler’s driving motivation comes down to accountability and global impact. "Having an impact on people in different countries in a positive way and being able to provide them with what they need is what excites me most about working here with the team," Skyler said.

That deep sense of responsibility is rooted in an athletic background. Having played sports, specifically football since the age of three, Skyler views corporate success through the lens of a team captain.

"There is no 'I' in team, and it takes all members to execute to reach success. My biggest motivation is not to let my co-workers down. People need things, and it is my job to ensure they get them."

This collaborative spirit aligns perfectly with TURBINE-X’s cultural cornerstone: "Together, We Win." Despite the high-pressure, time-sensitive nature of the energy industry, Skyler credits the supportive internal culture for keeping morale high. "My favorite part of my job is the team. Ninety-five percent of our Teams calls are met with a smile, and that goes a long way."

Powering the Future

Skyler isn't planning on slowing down anytime soon. When asked about what "powering your career" means, the answer was clear: relentless self-improvement. Skyler is already eyeing a Master’s Degree and Lean Six Sigma certifications to optimize supply chain efficiencies further.

With long-term goals of climbing the ranks into executive leadership, Skyler is ready to tackle whatever challenges the industry throws next, while fueling the journey with the occasional Mocha Frappuccino.

For the next generation of interns looking to follow this successful blueprint, Skyler offers a straightforward piece of advice:

"Give your best 100% of the time and be available. Ask for new tasks if your workload is getting slim, or ask to shadow someone above you in a meeting. Anything to make it known that you want to be here."
