THE CHALLENGE
The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the integrated master production schedule to support customer delivery commitments, inventory targets, manufacturing capacity, and business objectives. This role acts as the central coordination point between sales, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, supply chain, and project management to ensure realistic and executable production plans.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Master Production Scheduling
- Develop and maintain the master production schedule (MPS) for manufacturing operations.
- Translate sales forecasts, customer orders, and project requirements into executable production plans.
- Establish production priorities and sequencing to optimize throughput and on-time delivery.
- Monitor schedule adherence and adjust plans based on changing business requirements.
- Coordinate long-range, mid-range, and short-term production schedules.
Capacity & Resource Planning
- Analyze manufacturing capacity, labor availability, tooling, and equipment constraints.
- Balance production demand with available resources and recommend mitigation plans.
- Support capacity expansion planning and bottleneck identification.
- Coordinate with operations leadership to manage production loading and workforce planning.
Material & Supply Chain Coordination
- Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure material availability aligns with production schedules.
- Identify and communicate material shortages, long lead risks, and supply chain impacts.
- Support inventory optimization initiatives while minimizing production disruptions.
- Work closely with warehouse and logistics teams to support production flow.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Serve as the primary scheduling interface between manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, project management, and commercial teams.
- Coordinate engineering change implementation into production schedules.
- Participate in S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) and production planning meetings.
- Provide schedule status updates, recovery plans, and risk assessments to leadership.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Experience:
- 5–10+ years of experience in production scheduling, manufacturing planning, supply chain, or operations planning.
- Experience in complex manufacturing, industrial equipment, modular systems, energy, aerospace, automotive, or heavy industrial environments preferred.
- Experience working within ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Leadership Factor: A proactive, "get-it-done" attitude with the ability to mentor a team in a fast-paced environment.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Business Administration.
Certification:
- PMP (considered an asset)
- Lean/Six Sigma certification
PHYSICAL & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- Safety Compliance: Strict adherence to X-Group safety policies and SOPs.
- PPE: Ability to wear required gear (steel-toe boots, safety glasses, hearing protection).
