THE CHALLENGE
Continuous development and maintenance of the HSE management program, ensuring that health & safety plans comply with industry standards and legislation.
This role helps prevent accidents, injuries, and work-related illness by monitoring health hazards in the workplace and advising team members on ways to minimize risks and upholding the highest safety standards at our Nisku, AB facility.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- HSE Program Management: Maintain and oversee the company’s HSE program and act as the primary safety contact.
- Compliance & Monitoring: Ensure adherence to legislation, client requirements, and ISO 9001/14001/45001 standards.
- Incident Response: Investigate incidents and near misses, recommend corrective actions, and support follow‑up.
- Safety Data & Reporting: Manage HSE databases and safety statistics; prepare audit and certification documentation (e.g., COR).
- Training & Engagement: Deliver orientations, conduct facility walkthroughs, and participate in field visits and safety meetings.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with internal teams to address safety concerns and support continuous improvement initiatives.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Experience: 10 years diverse safety experience, including corporate and field safety.
- Education: Highschool Diploma, CSP or CRSP accreditation.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management systems.
- Mindset: Strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and alignment with our core values and Health and Safety policy.
PHYSICAL & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- Safety Compliance: Strict adherence to X-Group safety policies and SOPs.
- PPE: Ability to wear required gear (steel-toe boots, safety glasses, hearing protection).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs/ladders, and navigate an active industrial shop floor.
