We are currently looking for another Millwright Apprentice to become an X-PERT on our team in Nisku, Alberta. The successful candidate will reside in Edmonton or the surrounding area and will report to our Shop Lead.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Field Adventures: Travel to customer sites to install, maintain, and repair turbine and reciprocating packages, and power generation equipment.
- Hands-On Service: Execute on-site rebuilds, troubleshoot equipment issues, and perform detailed inspections to keep everything running smoothly.
- Read and React: Interpret diagrams and technical drawings to ensure every installation and repair follows exact specifications.
- Document Your Wins: Capture detailed maintenance reports and document all repairs and upgrades for future reference.
- Prep Like a Pro: Arrive at each job with all the tools, parts, and knowledge needed to tackle the day’s tasks.
- Get Technical: Operate machine tools as needed to fabricate parts, ensuring all components meet high standards.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Apprenticeship Progress: Currently in your 2nd or 3rd year as a Millwright Apprentice, on the path to achieving your Journeyman Certification.
- Industrial Know-How: 2+ years of industrial experience, preferably with rotating and gaseous-fueled turbines and reciprocating power generation packages.
- Technical Knowledge: Solid diagnostic skills and familiarity with power generation equipment.
- Tool Savvy: Proficient with various hand and machine tools.
- Driver's License: A valid license and a clean abstract to ensure safe travel between sites.
- Valid Passport: Ability to travel to the United States is required.
- Certifications: Standard First Aid, H2S, WHMIS, and TDG certifications are assets, along with forklift experience.

PHYSICAL & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- Maintain a valid Driver’s License and a clean driver's abstract.
- Participate in pre-employment, pre-access, post-incident, and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing. This position is considered safety sensitive.
- Understand and comply with the X-Group’s safety policies, safe work practices, procedures, and rules.
- Wear required safety equipment and personal protective devices, including clothing mandated by legislation and the employer (e.g., protective footwear, hi-vis clothing).
- Lift up to 100lbs frequently.
- Stand, move, and twist extensively. • Ensure the worksite is free of hazards that could cause slips, trips, or falls.
- Notify supervisors of any unsafe conditions or acts that may endanger workers.
- Report all accidents and injuries to supervisors as soon as possible.
- Take every reasonable precaution to protect the safety of other workers and oneself.
- Willingness to work varying shifts and travel to remote locations.
