We are currently looking for a Resident Field Service Mechanic to become an X-PERT on our expanding team in San Antonio, Texas. The successful candidate will reside in San Antonio, Laredo, or the surrounding area. A moving allowance may be considered for the right applicant.

What You'll Do
- Travel to customer sites in the San Antonio and Laredo areas to perform equipment installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to identify potential issues and maintain peak performance.
- Proactively identify key maintenance items to address them before they become critical, coordinating with the site to plan scheduled downtime with minimal operational impact.
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems, including hardware, software, and equipment failures, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.
- Accurately document service activities, including detailed reports, parts usage, and customer communication.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their needs, provide training, and ensure proper equipment operation.
- Maintain and monitor critical spare parts inventory to ensure readiness, reducing unscheduled downtime.
- Escalate complex technical issues to internal support teams and coordinate resolutions.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and product updates to ensure your skills are always current.
- Adhere to strict safety guidelines while working at customer sites.
- Deliver the X-FACTOR experience through excellence, expertise and extraordinary service.
What You'll Bring:
- Relevant technical certifications or an associate degree in a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as a field service technician or similar role, ideally in power generation or gas compression.
- Expertise in Caterpillar and Waukesha generator packages, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude for understanding and working with complex systems.
- Knowledge of control systems (Such as ComAp, DEIF, CAT, DSE, etc.)
- Ability to diagnose and resolve issues independently or with team support.
- Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to clients.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Flexibility to travel as needed, with occasional evening, weekend, or on-call shifts.

Physical and Safety Requirements
- Participate in pre-employment, pre-access, post-incident, and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing. This position is considered safety sensitive.
- Understand and comply with the X-Group’s safety policies, safe work practices, procedures, and rules.
- Wear required safety equipment and personal protective devices, including clothing mandated by legislation and the employer.
- Ensure the worksite is free of hazards that could cause slips, trips, or falls.
- Notify supervisors of any unsafe conditions or acts that may endanger workers.
- Report all accidents and injuries to supervisors as soon as possible.
- Take every reasonable precaution to protect the safety of other workers and oneself.
- Lift up to 100lbs occasionally.
- Maintain a valid Driver’s License and a clean driver's abstract.
- Maintain a clean criminal background check.
