We are currently looking for an Applications Engineer to become an X-PERT on our expanding team in Nisku, Alberta. The successful candidate will reside in Nisku, Edmonton, or the surrounding area.
The Challenge
Spearhead the seamless coordination of proposal development, acting as the pivotal link between our exceptional sales team and valued clients.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate sales engineering and proposal development activities
- Ensure accurate and high-quality proposal development
- Manage priorities to meet client specifications, timelines, and budget Interpret documentation, specifications, and design drawings using technical expertise
- Prepare precise project cost estimates
- Develop and maintain estimating tools Liaise effectively with clients, sales team, and suppliers
- Perform quality checks on estimates versus actual costs for accuracy
- Oversee project handover from sales to project execution team
- Coordinate with various disciplines and suppliers for proposal development
- Requisition major equipment (specify buyout equipment, issue RFQs, compare quotes, engage vendors)
- Ensure design information is controlled and provide to the sales / project team as required.
- Coordinate client communications and meetings.
What You'll Have
- B.Sc. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 3-5 years’ experience in Applications Engineering.
- P.Eng. designation through APEGA or working towards it

- Demonstrated ability to prioritize activities and stay focused in a dynamic ever-changing environment.
- Knowledge of MS Office suite (emphasis on Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Project).
- Experience using ERP systems.
- Experience in estimation, design, and manufacture of power generation package.
- Experience with turbine-driven power generation package is an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong editing and proofreading skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills – must be able to interact successfully with the entire team, from managers to senior leadership, with a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
- Ability to demonstrate sensitivity toward client engagements and confidentiality when interacting with leadership.
- Strong time management and excellent organization skills.
- Ability to multitask, to work under extreme pressure, and to meet tight deadlines and time demands.
- Able to work independently, with minimal supervision, in a team environment.
- A high degree of tact, diplomacy and professionalism.
