Millwright Apprentice
Location: Nisku, Alberta, Canada

We are currently looking for a Millwright Apprentice (2nd or 3rd year) to become an X-PERT on our expanding team in Nisku, Alberta. The successful candidate will reside in Nisku, Leduc, Edmonton or the surrounding area.
The challenge:
Carry out the mechanical duties involved with disassembly, inspection, maintenance repair, and reassembly of steam and gas turbines and compressors.
Who you'll report to:
- Senior Service Technician
What you'll do:
- Responsible for field installations, perform site rebuilds, service and maintain equipment, complete warranty repairs, and troubleshoot equipment performance issues for air compressors, air dryers, pumps, and other related equipment at customer site locations.
- Read diagrams and technical drawings to determine work procedures
- Install equipment according to layout plans using various equipment and tools
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to ensure in proper working order
- Operate machine tools to fabricate parts as required
- Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation of completed work
- Prior to departure to the worksite, understand the scope and have the required tools and parts to complete the work
What you'll have:
- At least 2 years of industrial experience
- High school diploma
- Working toward Journeyman Millwright certification
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills are required, including experience with rotating equipment, gaseous fueled equipment, and power generation equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound judgment, critical thinking skills, and decision making skills
- Self-starter propensity with the proven ability to lead, take initiative, and work independently
- Team orientation with a sense of humour and positivity!
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work at heights
- Must provide own hand tools
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driver's abstract
Physical and safety requirements:
- Safety-sensitive position that is subject to pre-employment, pre-access, post-incident, and reasonable suspicion Drug and Alcohol testing
- Understanding of and willingness to abide by all safety protocols
- Lifting up to 50 lbs frequently
- Extensive standing, moving, and twisting
- Valid Standard First Aid, H2S, WHMIS, TDG certification are assets
- Forklift certification an asset
- Must be available for varying shifts and to travel to remote locations
